Work begins on our new LGBT-welcoming senior housing & activity complex at 75/95 Laguna St.!

October 17th 2017 marked another groundbreaking moment at Openhouse. Construction officially began on the second building in our LGBT- welcoming senior community! A small gathering of supporters, community members and city officials took place where the latest details of the development were shared.

The new six- story building, due to be completed in Spring 2019, will add 79 more LGBT-welcoming senior living apartments and 7000 sq ft activity space to our community, enabling us to host more groups, classes, and events, and serve more LGBT seniors than ever! The apartment block will be named the Marcy Adelman and Jeanette Gurevitch Openhouse Community after our founders, with the Openhouse Activity Center yet to be named. The huge new community center will include a permanent art studio, a computer space for access and training in technology, a lifelong learning center for a variety of classes taught for and by seniors, and a large social gathering space for up to 200 community members. There is so much to be excited about, and we are already looking forward to welcoming our community to our new home!
